About Monique.

Monique Sawyer has a lot more to her than meets the eye. She may look like a Beauty Queen on the outside however this woman is empowered with intelligence and a passion for service on the inside. 

Monique is an award-winning Pageant Queen, who earned 1st Runner Up as Mrs Western Australia 2024 at the prestigious International Ms pageant. She will now return to the international stage as Mrs Australia 2025, competing in the International Ms pageant during New York Fashion Week 2025. With a background in law, Monique has had a professional career as a family lawyer and holds a Master of Legal Practice from the Australian National University. This line of work has enabled Monique to help people and advocate for them during their most vulnerable moments; particularly those escaping family violence. 

Monique utilises the best of her skills and talents to advocate for women, children and those facing adversity and engages in philanthropic endeavours. 

She is an ambassador for the charity, Fostering Hope Australia Inc. This charity provides essential items and services to children living in foster care and out of home care such as living with relatives. In addition, Monique fundraises for various charities including youth mental health charity batyr. 

In both 2023 and 2024, Monique received nominations for awards from the Women Lawyers of Western Australia annual awards. This included a nomination for the prestigious “Woman Lawyer of the Year” award in recognition of her significant  contributions to the legal profession. Testament to her contribution, Monique has also been featured in the Mandurah Mail “Meet Peel's pageant queen and real-life Elle Woods”.

Fashion, makeup and glamour have always been passions of Monique’s and it’s no surprise to learn that she has been involved in the modelling industry since a child and is a sought after internationally published model. 

Monique currently resides in Perth, Western Australia, living her best Cinderella life happily married to husband Maurice and raising her two sons, Isaac and Theodore. 

Monique is highly regarded as an inspirational role model, her story of triumph over adversity as a teenage mother to an empowered woman serves as a testament to the importance of never giving up on your dreams to achieve your goals!
